Welcome to the New & Improved LSN!

By Carlton Hoyt, 01 May 2025

Hello! If you're one of the relatively few people familiar with Laboratory Supply Network's old corporate site, you may be a bit shocked to see our new one. For a long time, the LabSup.Net domain has housed a fairly boring and straightforward corporate information site (with a few neat blog posts, which are still found here), and we had our laboratory equipment "marketplaces" on a growing cadre of individual websites, each focused on one type of laboratory equipment. For the purposes of both branding and limitations of ecommerce website technology when we first launched in 2013, that made sense. It no longer does, however.

Laboratory Supply Network will now be transitioning to having a single, unified ecommerce website under the Laboratory Supply Network brand and on the LabSup.Net domain. It will look, feel, and operate very similarly to all of our individual stores, although we will be accelerating the deployment of new functionality that will allow us to better serve our customers in the future.

We expect that you - our customers - and us will be able to benefit from this. You'll be able to:

  • Buy more types of products more easily. Everything will be on one website so if you need, for example, a homogenizer and a stirrer, you can get product information, a quote, and / or order online all in one place. Simpler!
  • Access a wider variety of products! Having equipment type-based store branding limited the types of equipment we could offer. That's no longer going to be an issue.
  • More easily find limited time lab equipment promotions on a wide range of products.
  • Have a single online account.

For us, we'll be able to:

  • Expand into new product lines so we can provide you with even more choices and help you better identify and select equipment across more product categories.
  • Simplify the management of our websites, which will allow us to save time which we can then use to accelerate product addition, better ensure our product lines are promptly updated, and increase the rate at which we release UX improvements and new functionality.
  • Save some money. Running one website is significantly less costly than running 10. That's money we can redirect to things like generating more informational blog posts and website development so we can better educate and serve our customers.

We just launched the new labsup.net site at the time this news article is being posted. We still have a tiny bit of functionality to finish up, which should take a week or two, but after that we'll start deprecating our old sites and redirecting them to this one. We estimate that this process will go through the end of the year, give or take. The order that we'll take down our old sites will be:

  • LabBalances.net
  • Stirrers.net
  • Rotovaps.net
  • LabIncubators.net
  • WaterBaths.net
  • LabOvens.net
  • LabFreezers.net
  • LabCentrifuges.net
  • OrbitalShakers.net
  • Homogenizers.net

We'll miss them! But we'll be happy for new efficiencies and improved ability to serve you.

Don't hesitate to contact us with any questions. We're always here for you.
